Wiązanki ślubne znane były już w starożytnym Rzymie, gdzie panna młoda niosła bukiet kłosów żyta lub pszenicy, co miało zapewnić dobrobyt w domu.

Wśród wielu przesądów dotyczących wiązanki króluje ten, że nie należy jej przechowywać zasuszonej, bo wróży to „uschnięcie” miłości. Najlepiej więc spalić ją zaraz po weselu lub w pierwszą rocznicę ślubu. Dlatego chyba lepiej od razu przekazań bukiet nowej przyszłej pani młodej.
